The Department of Rognidan & Vikriti Vigyan is one of the core clinical diagnostic departments in Ayurvedic education. It focuses on the scientific understanding of disease diagnosis and pathogenesis based on classical Ayurvedic principles as well as modern diagnostic methods. The department trains students to identify diseases through Ayurvedic clinical examination techniques and contemporary laboratory investigations, enabling accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
About the Department
Rognidan & Vikriti Vigyan deals with the study of Nidana (causative factors), Purvarupa (prodromal symptoms), Rupa (clinical features), Upashaya-Anupashaya (relieving/aggravating factors), and Samprapti (pathogenesis) of diseases. The department plays a vital role in bridging classical Ayurvedic diagnostic concepts with modern pathological understanding.
Students are trained to analyze diseases through the Trividha Pariksha (Darshana, Sparshana, Prashna) and Ashtavidha Pariksha (Nadi, Mutra, Mala, Jihva, Shabda, Sparsha, Drik, Akruti) along with laboratory diagnostics.
